What is Avid AI Professor?
Avid AI Professor is the evaluation assistant in Avid OSM 3.0. It reviews answer scripts and suggests question-wise marks together with a logical reason. It is a feature of the on-screen marking system, not a separate examination board product and not the Avid LMS lesson tutor.
Primary commercial page for on-screen marking remains Avid OSM. This page exists so search engines and people can distinguish answer-evaluation AI from learning/tutoring AI.
Handwritten answer understanding
The assistant is used on scanned handwritten pages. It is meant to help an examiner see a proposed score per question, not to certify that every stroke was read perfectly. Poor scans, unusual layouts or mixed languages can reduce suggestion quality — which is why override exists.
Question-wise mark suggestions
Suggestions follow the paper’s question structure (including part-wise marks where the scheme is configured). The examiner can accept, edit or ignore each value before submitting the copy.
Logical grading explanations
Each suggestion can include a reason: what the model treated as relevant in the answer. Reasons are an aid to review, not a legal marksheet. Institutions should still apply their own marking scheme and moderation rules.
Multilingual evaluation
Avid AI Professor can support answer evaluation across supported languages and scripts. We do not publish an exhaustive language list as a marketing claim; supported scripts for a university’s papers are confirmed in implementation.
Examiner review and override
Human-in-the-loop means the examiner sees suggestions, may hover or open reasons, changes any mark, and submits. Manual marks take priority over suggestions when both exist.
Auditability
When AI is used, Avid OSM can log that a suggestion run occurred alongside the marks the examiner finally recorded. That supports later queries without implying the AI was the awarding authority.
OSM integration
Avid AI Professor is invoked from the OSM evaluation screen and configured from university AI settings (manual vs suggested assistance). There is no separate “AI-only exam” product URL for ranking OSM keywords — use Avid OSM for on-screen marking itself.
University examination use cases
Useful when examiners face high copy volumes and consistent schemes, and the university wants optional assistance with a recorded reason. Avid OSM’s documented production history (2020 onward at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University, Jaipur) predates AI Professor; Version 3.0 adds this assistant on that lineage.
