Direct answer
ERP runs the institution (people, money, enrolment, published results). LMS runs taught courses (video, in-lesson tutoring, online tests, certificates). OSM runs digital evaluation of scanned handwritten (or similarly captured) answer books. Connecting them avoids retyping. Merging them into one screen usually makes a worse exam cell and a worse teacher.
How it works
Identity and programmes should originate somewhere of record (usually ERP/SIS). The LMS enrols those students into courses and may write back completion. OSM consumes examination events and writes marks; ERP turns marks into gazettes, grade cards and revaluation cases. AI is namespaced: Avid AI Learning Assistant in the player; Avid AI Professor on the script; ERP AI as operational alerts.
What we built
- Student and course data can sync from Avid ERP to Avid LMS for learning and certificates
- Marks from Avid OSM can flow into college exam-cell and university COE result sheets, grade cards and revaluation queues
- Avid AI Professor is optional assistance on OSM 3.0 — not an ERP module and not the LMS tutor
OSM production evidence we publish: 2020 origin at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University, Jaipur; four years; more than 3,00,000 answer sheets each year of that period. We do not use that volume as a claim about ERP or LMS deployments.
Key considerations
- A school on ₹99/student ERP may never need OSM. That is fine.
- A university that only buys LMS still has a theory-paper problem next April.

FAQ
Does ERP mark handwritten answer books?
No. On-screen marking is Avid OSM. ERP publishes and stores results once marks exist.
Does the LMS award university theory-paper marks?
LMS assessments are course quizzes/exams inside learning. High-stakes handwritten theory evaluation is OSM.
